A Beloved Holiday Tradition Lives On

Local Farm Carries Forward the Legacy of RTM’s Christmas Light Show

What began as a simple dream to bring a Christmas light show to the local community this fall has turned into something far more meaningful: the continuation of a beloved holiday tradition that has touched thousands of families for decades.

Earlier this season, the team at Harvest Moon Winery & Farms made the decision to build a Christmas light experience for the community. As plans began to take shape, they learned that RTM / Retired Military Unique Country Gifts, home to one of Indiana’s largest and most cherished Christmas light displays, would no longer be able to continue its annual show due to recent health challenges faced by owner Mike Price, who has been the heart behind the tradition for many years.

For over a decade, RTM’s light show in Coverdale, Indiana welcomed more than 7,000 visitors each season and became a Christmas staple for families across the region — a place where memories were made, carloads of families gathered, and the simple joy of Christmas lights brought people together.

"“When we learned that Mike would no longer be able to carry on the show, we reached out immediately,” the team shared. “This tradition meant too much to too many people to simply fade away.”"

Today, that legacy lives on.

Harvest Moon is honored to now host and carry forward the original RTM displays and thousands of lights, thoughtfully reimagined across the farm. The light show now winds through the orchard and vineyard, around the maple barn, and existing landscapes, creating a new backdrop for a tradition that so many hold close to their hearts.

Guests can warm up with hot cocoa or coffee as they shop, enjoy great food, sweet treats, and holiday cheer inside the event barn before heading out for a magical hayride through the lights. Bundled up with family and friends, they’ll take in the glowing displays across the farm. For adults, local Indiana wines and craft beers are also available to enjoy as part of the evening.
